Hey girls and guys, one of our groups sponsors , Billeta imports, has become the national importer of MT Helmets.
I was lucky enough to be sent a helmet a couple of weeks ago to try and give a bit of an opinion on and what better way to test it than on our annual Snowy Mountains Ride.
The model sent was the MT Helmets Atom Modular helmet.
I was dead against modular style helmets as I’ve alway listened to the community say they are noisey etc but thought.. what the hell..
First thing was to strip it apart to fit my Sena 30K intercom system and noticed how bloody good the quality is.. I’ve had all the big brand helmets.. and man.. this was up there with them for how well it’s made and the Sena fit it perfectly.
I noticed it was a bit heavier than my regular street helmet but could understand this as it has the hinge mechanism .
Fitment was great, with a nice plush but firm lining that was easy to remove, but it fit really well.
Also the helmet has the dark visor inside that works soo easy with 1 finger to extend and retract it inside the clear visor.
At high speed, it was a tad noisy but that’s to be expected with pretty much any helmet, and not wearing ear plugs, but wasn’t any worse than other helmets I have worn before.
But my all time fave part that has made me want to keep this as my full time street helmet is way you can open the face and chat etc, instead of having to remove the helmet.. was very cool to me ..
All in all these helmets don’t attract the big price of other helmets but I’m totally won over by this and can recommend for sure.
